The weekend of August 12-14, 2005, MLW celebrated a half century of dramatically impacting the lives of Maryland youth. The evidence of MLW's impact resides in MLW's graduates, who have achieved enormous professional and personal successes, much of which they attribute to their MLW experiences. Informal reception On Aug. 12, 2005, MLW staff alumni met in the Presidential Suite of the Pooks Hill Marriott in Bethesda, Md., and mingled with other alumni staff members, perused old photographs and viewed a videotaped tribute to MLW's founder, Felix Simon ("Uncle Si"). MLW: A Lifetime of LeadershipOn Aug. 13, 2005, MLW staff alumni looked briefly at the past 50 years of MLW and then forward to the next 50 years. Evening CelebrationAlumni got together for cocktails, dining, dancing and to honor MLW's Executive Director Emeritus, Mike Michaelson.
